I couldn't find a thread dedicated to photos of modified/customized CRKs (checked the consolidated sticky too) and thought that might interesting. I don't have any with serious modifications but a few of mine have sanded/polished flats with factory mill work on the handles. I like the two-tone look it creates quite a bit.

What modifications/customizations do you have?

The small Starbenza 21, large N.I.C.A Regular, and Umnumzaan have had the flats sanded. I didn't do the work but got them all for pretty good prices due to the modifications.

^^^what's the purpose of the push-pin lanyard? I have worked off shore, and on aircraft engines where every tool has to be accounted for, or if you dropped it, it was likely going to the bottom of the ocean. Looks like a very unique application. What's the story T tiguy7 ?

Thanks. It reminds me of the LDC Sebenzas. I was hoping when I bought it I would find out that CRK's did the flutes as a test for the LDC's but sent it to CRK's and they said they did not do the work. Still love the knife!

Yeah I thought it was an LDC when I saw it. I've only seen a few so off the top of my head it would not be easy to recognize the difference for me.

The push pin is a lot like the disconnects on air hoses. 3 ball bearings, but instead of a sleeve, the pusher lets the bearings fall inside the cylinder.
I showed this rig to Chris Reeve at the Blade Show. He said it was too clunky, but he can easily replace lost knives. The lanyard attaches to your belt. The pin can go into the handle from either side. You can use the lanyard for a pocket, waist band, or belt carry (R or L). You can use the knife with the lanyard attached or detached.
The pins were designed for knock down displays and sail boat mast stepping on flipped Hobie Cats. They come in many sizes and are usually made to resist salt water (300 series stainless). I recommend a lanyard for bronco work, sky diving, trampolining, pogo sticking, canyon jumping, cleaning fish at the end of the dock, dirt biking, you get the idea.
You can also make a large lanyard that goes over your shoulder and under the opposite arm, like Sargeant Preston. No choking here boss. The pins are kind of expensive ($20), but they don't wear out. Knives and tools are expensive too.

DGI DGI , I like the back spacers. I'm waiting on a couple of the micarta versions from BOOMER52 for a pair of small micarta inlay Classics.

Well...long story short, I had an extra blade (now I have three blades) for my '94 P Sebenza. Two s35vn, and the original ats34 blade. A year or two ago I was moving some boxes around from my shop to my basement and my first s35vn blade ended up spending a ND winter in a snowbank outside my house, it got sidewalk salt and probably dog piss on it all winter, it looked pretty bad, so a year ago I sent it back to the factory to see if they'd be able to fix it, initially they said it was fubar, and that I wouldn't get another blade since they are basically custom fit for the P, but Anne (thank god) decided to make an exception, so I got another s35vn blade made up, well I got bored last night and was cleaning out my desk, and found the fubar'd s35vn blade laying in the bottom, so I decided to see if I could spruce it back up....here are the results.

I personally think it's bad a**.

I'd like to hear the long story for how you wound up with 3 blades for it before this salt event happened. Did you just decide you wanted to have the P Sebenza as a user but didn't want to risk damaging the original blade, so sent it in and got two spares made? And what about the P Sebenza made you want it to be a user? Just the cool factor or anything else? Any issues carrying it since it lacks a pocket clip?
