Modified Eastside Fighter

Craig, she looks great!! I asked Craig to build this for me, I wanted a functional guard to aid in Trapping, it will also be recieving a Spanish notch, also for trapping. Love it or hate it,lol. It sure is a one of anyways! Craig was a pleasure to work with, had pleasure of meeting him in person, and after placing order, at Blade. Had a chance to handle a East Side fighter with Custom handles, knew I made right choice! Thanks!

At the risk of asking a stupid question, how does this style guard and especially a "spannish notch" aid in trapping?

Just to clarify, I don't necessarily dis-like the turn-down guard or the curve-down of "Hell Belles'" guard, just that I prefer Craig's usual East Side Fighter guard on this knife.

Thanks for all the Comments!!Yes Top clip is sharpened. A guard that extends towards Blade will aid in Trapping a foes blade, this by using guard as lever to pin against your blade with twist of knife, hard to explain in words but when I recieve I'll post pics with a Blade "Trapped". Spanish Notch was also utilized to actually "Catch" Blade in the notch. Same reason some early Bowies had a Brass Backstrap, Brass is softer so opposing blade would dig in and Catch.
