I reground some Moras to full flat grinds and made them available. I've had one I did up for myself for quite a while now and the cutting performance is markedly improved, especially on slicing tasks. More will be done as time and inclination dictate. :)

Clicky click

Soooo nasty. Love them, can't wait to receive my 2/0 and Companion. Seriously Benjamin, you seem like the only other knife aficionado that appreciates a truly thin machete or belt knife. I know, everyone loves Opinels, but the same people reach for an Izula or a similar Becker and call it a thin fixed blade.

I bet the performance on these guys will be insane, and will perfectly fall into what a Mora is superior at; handling every single small knife role that is asked of it.

I actually saw those on your site the other day (literally yesterday or the day before), and was just thinking of starting a thread to see what people thought of them. Are they flexible?

Is this something that is pretty common to do to moras?

Also, I was "away" from the hobby and this forum for about two years (finished school, got a "career", moved to an area decidedly less knife friendly), and have just barely been getting more into things again, and I found that during this time AG Russell discontinued their Deer Hunter fixed blade (super bummed by that), which I had wanted for a while for the same type of reason I'm interested in these moras. Crazy thin blade, and super light weight.

A few fresh ones available now. :)

Thinner cuts better! And so many folks underestimate just how strong a thin blade can be.

I may have missed such an occurrence but (oddly) these are the first FFG Mora regrinds I've seen. The thinner models have a little flex to them, but are still more than stiff enough for the overwhelming majority of tasks.

I've seen them, but they were a one off experiment that someone did, and not as streamlined as yours. I went to look...whew, no bushcrafts yet, though that 510 is nice. I'm sticking to my guns about waiting til I can get the Baryonyx, lol.

So cool! Would love to see a Mora black and HD companion done this way. I am one of those few who think current outdoors knives of almost all brands/models are overbuilt because of knuckleheads.

edit:saw the Robust in the OP but not the site. Great idea.

I agree. :D

And yes, I've had a few Robusts up on the site and an HD Companion in orange, but they've come and gone. Going to do a few more once I get some fresh grinding belts. I'm down to my last 36 grit and it's not quite as fresh as I'd like for grinding primary bevels.

Oh yes, quite the improvement :thumbup::thumbup:

Great Idea, I'm looking to order one of these. Are you expecting to do any others soon? I think you only have magentas companions left. Also, are you expecting any more fatwood soaps in?

Thanks

I actually have a few different models available at the moment. Just added a Robust and stainless Companions in blue and green, to boot. :)

Thanks for the reply, I ordered a magenta one before you replied. I just emailed you about a possible order change. Either way its not a big deal and Im looking forward to getting it.
