I have tested one 10V sample that was heat treated with 1850°F austenitize and 500°F temper. The resulting toughness was similar to the PM stainless steels. So using 10V can provide similar toughness to those steels but with a significant bump in edge retention. That is at the cost of corrosion resistance, of course. We have not yet done a direct comparison between low and high temper of 10V. The low temper does provide much higher hardness, requiring lower austenitizing temperatures which may lead to an improvement in edge retention and toughness.
