I just did some modifying to my CRKT S-2 and wanted to share it.

It's the large version with the 3.5" blade. When I got it, I could only find the serrated version and the serrations have always been the only thing I don't like about it. I decided last night to fix it up. I reshaped the blade using a coarse Lansky diamond stone and a sharpmaker. I sanded the blade down with 220 grit and a scotchbrite pad to get rid of scratches from use and me being clumsy while reshaping it. Sorry for the horrible scan, but at least it shows the shape:

I still want to work on the small choil I put in, once I get my hands on a file that's appropriately shaped (all I had on hand was the sharpmaker rods), and give it a more even finish.

It sure cuts nicer with a sharp edge where I need it at the bottom. I can't decide if it's uglier than it was before or not...

What do you guys think... I know it's an improvement in function, but what about form?
