My daughter got a buck on Monday, the first day of the season here in Pa. It was a big deer, but had the smallest 8 point rack that I have ever seen. Anyway, I got the opportunity to test out my modified SAR 4. You may have seen it progress in my other thread. It worked like a dream. Not only for the field dressing, but also for the butchering yesterday. Only problem that I now have, is how to get the blood, fat and hair out of the Chuddy bear sheath. She put it in the sheath before I had a chance to clean most of it off! Oh well, I will send him a pm. It needs to be re-wet molded after all of the modifications anyway. here are some pics. Most are crappy cell phone pics, but here they are:

thanks,
Dave.

it's not the size of the rack, it's how you use it. :p
you easterners with your weird point system.

Nice pics, congrats on the buck. It'll be good eatin, can't eat the horns anyway.:thumbup:

Nice deer.
Congrats to your daughter.

Just cut those horns off and use them for rattling next year.

Congrats on the successful outing.

It looks as if someone has glued a jackalope rack onto a doe. :p

Did you use a pink rope cause your daughter shot it? J/K.:D

Looks like you had a great hunt! Congrats to your daughter.

Great pics. Hopefully your daughter knows how cool her pops is to let her use that awesome knife!

I skinned my first deer with a gerber, that would not hold and edge for more than 5 minutes of skinning.

Great pix. Cute daughter. (Not in THAT way. C'mon. I've got 2, 12 and 10. Sheesh!) I've got a 6-pointer somewhere out back with a rack about that size. I'd actually have to sight some sort of legal firearm in in order to go get him. I gat-gat-gat-gat no time.

A proud moment for both of you. Congratulations all around.

Thanks for sharing.

Congrats to your daughter!

I do like your Modded SAR4... me thinks that this is what this blade needs. :foot:

Thanks fo rthe pics

.

That is an unusually small rack for having so many points. Definitely NOT the smallest rack I have ever seen. I shot a spike buck on opening day this year. The antlers were about the size and girth of my pinkie finger. :o

My saving grace was that not even half an hour prior to pulling the trigger, I told my buddy, "I have no problems taking a spike or fork... I already have my trophy."

And a big CONGRATS to you and your daughter on a successful hunt.
