I have modified one of my large K2 folders and wanted to ask you all for your feedback, the blade is the standard large K2 with the tip modified, it is first profiled then rounded on the top, the titanium is just scotch bright finished and anodized, The knife is not yet sharpened, feel free to let me know what you think of the tip design, this is just a prototype. Thanks, Farid

I prefer your standard persian'ish blade shape myself.

I like it much better with this tip design....

More practical for EDC, and look at all that belly!

For the sake of argument, how better suited for EDC with this tip?

Further more, looks like it has the same belly as the original - as the OP stated, its just the tip, which has been modified.

Its not that I dont like the mod, the original is just gorgeous and have long been a favorite of mine. To each his own and all that.

My fault....

Should have added a pic.

Better IMO, but I would prefer the tip dropped a hair lower, the grind to stop at the tip, and swedge top 1/3 the length of the blade from the tip.

I've got the Spyderco Farid K2 and I did the same mod! Then I smoothed it out a bit more. (pics in Spyderco forum, show your mods. Same user name) I used to use the knife at work and found the Persian tip would snag on things. Now it's just right for me. I now mostly use it for camping or at the cabin.
