I modded an XL Tanto Voyager in AUS10-A by reshaping the handle to be slimmer, more neutral and (in my eyes) a hundred times better looking. Everything about the knife is in good order, but full disclosure, there is some blade play in the triad lock due to my attempts to make G10 scales for the knife by hand. My holes were not properly spaced, but almost fit right, and I made the mistake of trying to polish away a bit of material where the tang meets the stop pin. It worked - sort of. But I could never get the knife to function as intended.
So I reassembled it with the stock handles, and though it has some up and down blade play producing an audible tick, and even a microscopic amount of side to side play, it is still a Triad lock, and I don't see it failing any time soon.
Despite that one (in my opinion minor) flaw, the knife is razor sharp, given I reprofiled the edge to about 9° per side on the worksharp, and gave it a 20° per side microbevel on the sharpmaker. It is almost perfectly balanced on the front finger groove, being only ever so slightly blade heavy, giving it an incredibly nimble and fast feeling in hand. It easily supports saber grip, Filipino grip, reverse grip edge in or out, and even choked up grip, with what could almost be called a finger choil.
I recently bought a Yojimbo 2, and given my evolution towards carrying smaller knives, it made sense for me to offer this one up to anyone who would like to own it. If you are not bothered by the idea of slight but noticeable blade play, then I am offering to ship this to your door for $OLD.
The knife will go to the first "I'll take it" followed with prompt communication, and will ship fully tracked and insured with Xpresspost, the fastest method available through Canada post.
