Well, I guess I'll try it that way, and if I don't like it, I can change it later. However, if I change it now, then I can't go back and replace material I've removed. So, for this class, the butt stays as is.. Thanks everybody!

Now if Brian can get me the sheath I ordered..

Good Luck! I can make you one of my fancy Gorillactical Sheaths (see Lancelots post) if you really need one. Not quite as good as Brian's, but................:D ;)
 
MODIFICATIONS:
I want the birds beak on the butt GONE! By flattening the butt, I can hammer (baton) the butt of the knife. With the birds beak, it makes this a little tough. No no no.. I am not using the knife to hammer, I am batoning the knife into wood to split it. It's a survival thing.. Hummmmm

Well, now I'm confused. You want to flatten the butt to "hammer/baton" it into wood to split it.....

Doesn't the proper technique call for hitting the spine of the blade instead of the butt of the blade?

Or do you have a new technique?

I drilled the micarta off and reshaped the slabs,
then Garth and the fine folks at the Custom Shop
knocked the beak off my FSH butt, and re-riveted the handle...

Dang it River 8, it YOUR fault I'm in this situation! If you had never showed me that HH of yours, I'd never have wanted to do it to mine!

Maybe I should just keep this one the way it is and buy a SH-E.. Anybody got one with mags for sale??
