Modifying leek clip for deep-pocket carry

I would like to fold over the top portion of my leek clip so it rides lower in the pocket (tip-up configuration). How malleable is the clip steel? should i heat it? i have a mapp gas torch available. What's the best way to go about this? Thanks!
