As some of you know, I got myself a Busse FFBM (Fat Fusion Battle Mistress) at the end of last year.

It was big, fat and green.... at 8mm (0.31") thick it had plenty of scope for modding... and trimming off some of the excess....So I set about it...

You know the drill...

Strip, strip...

Sand, sand...

At first I thought I would get away with leaving the handle on...but... I had to drill out the tube fasteners and do the whole blade.

All work was done without power tools and I'm very pleased with the finished knife. :)

I settled for a 600 grit hand rubbed satin finish because it's durable and easy to restore.

It lost about 1.5mm (0.059") thickness overall... which makes it about 6.5mm (0.255") thick.

The green linen Micarta came out really well and the new handle shape feels great.

The testing should be fun.

Thanks for looking. :)

Nice job on that..It looks good . Must find the courage to attempt that myself.

Yeah. thats awesome!

would look good on red/black g-10;)

Super nice Soupy, If I get time I'm gonna do the same. I really like the way the handles turned out !

How did you press the slabs back on? Did you improvise something, or is there a tool for this? Looks cool!

Nicely done Soup. Did you use new slabs for the handle or simply sand the old ones down a bit?

Holy Smokes! That is a super duper awesome job!:thumbup: I too also prefer the hand satin finish for my own users. What grit did you start off with?

that is great! What was the initial grit you used to pull out the dimples? Also, what do you use for handle fasteners?
