Mods you Made

This looks great! I'm in the process of adding maroon liners to my gso 7/7. I too am using a dremel and sand paper. My question is how you got the top of your liners across the bolster so clean? I'm just using blue painters tape on both the blade and top of the scales. Its tedious (as you mentioned) because when I see the tape start to sand off, I just replace it. But this method still will leave the width of the tape as a transition from liner to scale. This is a user knife so if I hit the blade or scale a little, it's not the end of the world. But it appears from your pictures, this was not an issue for you. Any more specifics you can offer on your method? Again, great job! Always fun to see peoples mods. I plan to do the same to my RMJ next!
I went super slow and finished by hand. I also cheated a bit by using a “beater” FK2 and it did end up with some scuff marks, not many but some.

Has anyone beside me (have 2 left hands for a right handed person) come up with a paracord wrap or other handle wrap ideas (maybe leather?) for their PryBar? I know that SwarthyDan showed a photo pf his PryBar with some green (micarta?) handle scales but that kinda stuff is beyond my meager means. Dan please go ahead a post a photo of your in here to get this thread going.

Incidentally, what is the difference between mods you made and made mods? Asking for a fellow CPK'er :p

If you are looking for a better grip on the pry unless you have really big hands I'd go with a tape style wrap over cord wrap. Paracord is going to increase the profile vertically and horizontally. You can also build up the sides to add some palm swell then wrap over it. Baseball bat tape, handlebar wrap and electrical wrap (not tape) are all solid choices and easy to change later on.

I put a pretty severe wiggle into my A2 Light Chopper prototype during testing years ago;

That’s pretty cool though. Was the original tempered too low? What’s a good hardness for an A2 chopper?

A2 is not great for a chopper, although it is one of my personal favourite alloys. It's awesome for prototyping because it's easily machinable, available in precision ground stock and easy to heat treat well. It's really nice for small knives but for big mommas, 3V is your daddy

this prototype probably isn't full hardness, and tempered on the high side, which is pretty much the only way to toughen an otherwise not particularly tough tool steel
