Mold on Sambar Stag?

I have a sambar stag custom Bark River and there is some green stuff on the handle that looks like mold. Is this mold? And what is a safe way to clean it?

You might want to try a paper towel.

It's probably buffing compound. Try soap and water with a toothbrush. If that doesn't work you might try some acetone. If you go with the acetone I'd put some mineral oil or paste wax on it afterwards to keep it from drying out too much.
