Molle clips on ESSE-3 sheath

Is anyone else out there having issues with mounting the molle clips onto the ESSE-3 sheath vertically?? I can't seem to line them up without it hitting the bumps where the tang / Choil are raised on the sheath..
 
They do hit. If you use the rubber spaces and supplied hardware it should still work. The molle lock does lay kind of funny on the sheath.
 
Yeah I realized the spacers I was using were a bit flattened out from them being mounted to one of my other knives... I'm just going to use paracord to mount the sheath to my Maxpack
