Another Monday thread. Seems Mondays are the only time I get to sit here at work for a few moments and reflect on my past week, and plan for the week ahead. Things have been so hectic and busy for me. Still no snow on the ground up here, and the weather has really been kind to this old fella trying to get his house finished. I made great strides this weekend. I installed a new outside door off the living room, and rebuilt the entire soffit on that side of the house. Lots of work, but much-needed in case Old Man Winter catches me with my pants down. I can go the winter without siding if I have to, but not without a door. Previously, the door was just a sheet of plywood!
Pretty much all that it left is to finish painting the trim and install siding now. All the major work is done.
KNIVES!!?? What the heck are THOSE?
Hopefully when Linda and I make the move to NC, I can build a decent shop and smithy. Not that mine isn't good, but even in the summer, it's cold as a meat locker. Basement shops aren't always ideal. I'll be looking for someone to show us the woodlore down there too. Anyone here want to volunteer to come stay the weekend when we arrive, and show us the ropes? What I am looking for is someone who will teach us the local lore, as in bugs, varmints snakes and other indigenous cooties. Not much in the way of poisonous stuff up here, and I fear we may take a lot of things for granted. It would be nice to have someone slap my hand and tell me I "shouldn't do this because...."
Anyone up for the job?
Hey... what are you guys up to this week?
