Monkey Edge Chris Reeve Gfeller sheath

This is what Monkey Edge sent me for $163. Scuffed up sheath and a nice indent in the leather where it obviously carried a knife at one time. This should of been discounted by about $50.

If that was advertised as new - I’d be a little (very) upset as well. Monkey edge customer service has come through for me in the past. I would shoot them a picture, with the packaging and a description of the issue. I ordered a few high value items from them many times .. one time the box arrived torn open. There was a post office note stating they found damage to the box. I emailed monkey edge immediately. To my surprise they issued a replacement item and immediately provided new tracking number ( it was a 3V item in oxide black finish too ).

This package arrived today, and undamaged. I emailed them a picture and am waiting for their reply. When I spoke with them about ordering , they said they had only one sheath in stock. If they had told me this is a return item with obvious handling and usage marks, I would of purchased elsewhere. I’ll post what happens with this when that time comes to pass. I never heard any negatives about Monkey Edge and expected a new item. I did tell them in the email that i don’t think Gfeller would send this to a distributor in this condition. The leather that rest behind the handle has marks all the way up, it’s had a knife in there and was pulled in and out more than once. Thanks for your input.

To be very clear, the statement about a knife being previously in the sheath is absolutely correct. EVERY sheath Gfeller has or ever will make for CRK has the appropriate knife run into the sheath as final inspection before it leaves their shop.
