Monkey Proof Sharpening Jig

Thank you all for looking and commenting. I try to eliminate brain work from whatever I am working on - for me, the results are always better. With this jig, once the angle is established and locked in (~15 seconds), everything else is a "no brainer".

AWGunS, the bench I fabricated turned out much heavier than I expected - the caster wheels are testicle savers. BTW, no one, not even "Tony" can maintain an exact angle without the use of a jig so don't feel bad:-)

Thanks again for looking. Feel free to contact me for simple fabrication details.

Very clean fab, Jeff. I agree with Nick, you're attention to detail is far from simple. After the initial time put into the build, that rig should speed things up for you. This simplicity kick really cracks me up. An automated assembly line represents the epitomy of consistancy and efficiency. After the initial investment most of the human factor is removed. I would argue that one could then label it as "simple". Typing on your keyboard over the internet seems simple, doesn't it?

I also think it is cool that you are entering the W&SS Neck Knife Challenge. Finally, folks can see how your "quasi-simple" approach translates to real use.

Thanks, Rick. I agree with your analysis as it relates to simplicity as a form of deferred gratification. There is a context to my use of the term "simplicity" that is well documented on this forum. The fact is, everything is simple if broken down into component parts or operations. I got the W&SS neck knife blade back from Peter's today and will ship it out early next week.
