Ran a search but couldn't find any info; wondering if anyone out there knows of stores in Montana that have a decent blade selection or even cater to just knife enthusiasts. Thanks!

I Love Montana. Used to live in Missoula. Don't want to discourage you, but doubt there are any knife speciality stores. Some good selections though may be found in some of the bigger gun/sporting goods stores. Where are you in Montana?

I'm up in BC Canada but will be going through the area next month and figured I'd see if there were any good local stores. Even though you sometimes pay a little more I like to support the small knife businesses as much as I can. Are there any good sporting good/gun stores you can think of in the state that would have a decent knife section? Thanks!

Montana is a big state, not sure where your headed, be we don't have too many (any) specialty knife stores, but as mentioned above most of the bigger sporting good stores carry a pretty good selection of knives

there are several custom knife makers scattered across the state, you might possibly be able to arrange to meet up with them

John Doyle of Bitterroot Custom knives http://bitterrootcustomknifeworks.com/ is in Hamilton, south of Missoula

Ruana Knifeworks in Bonner, east of Missoula http://www.ruanaknives.com/

Simonich Knives is in Clancy (just south of Helena) http://www.simonichknives.com/home.htm

there are many others, might want to peruse this site

we do now have a Cabelas in Billings (Eastern part of the state) that has a rather large collection of knives

Whiteheads Cutlery in Butte has been a cutlery store for about 100 years, years ago it was a wonderful place, still is kinda neat and worth checking out. I think they are still open, its been a couple years since I have been there, they had a web site in the past and maybe still do. They did have alot of old knives on display, but were not for sale, then again everything is for sale at the right price and many of the old knives have been sold over the years. There is also a store in Great Falls called Blade Master, they sell all kinds of gift items and a few knives, when they started - about 10 to 20 years ago they had mostly knives, but to stay in business they started selling all kinds of stuff. Check out the Jack
Club Antique Mall in Great Falls also- there are alot of old knives there too.
