I purchased this directly from Brian Moody of Moody Forge. The blade is forged out of a 9.5" long piece of 1" drill string. Drill string is pretty similar to 5160 with just a tad bit more carbon in it. So it'd be like 5175, The last 2 numbers usually mean how much carbon. So 1095 would be .95%. The blade is .26" at the spine and the blade is approximately 17.5" overall. The overall length of the sword is 24". The wrap on the handle has been hardened. The sheath securely holds the blade, the blade snaps in so it is not going anywhere unless you pull it out. SOLD....
