Moon Pie ?

Cool knives, these moon pies...
I have been looking to pick up a Canal Street knife...
So the half moon pie by CS is 3 3/8" closed? I was under the impression that it was bigger at 3 3/4" closed?

Oops! You're right Nphelps, it's 3 3/4". Correction made:thumbup:

I think I started the Half Moon Pie length error. 3 3/8" is the length of the clip blade. :o

The big gold moon pie shield has kept me from buying a Canal Street knife. I think they wreck the appeal of a nice stag or bone handle. And I am a moon spirit kind of person too.

I think Moon Pies are still made in Chattanooga, and now there in a Mint Crunch and a Peanut Butter flavor too.

I don't know Hal, the brass shield grows on you when it begins to tarnish a bit. Here's one in ebony....

Here is one in Olive Wood

Blade lenght is the same a Case 4 1/8" Slimline Trapper
Very thin in the pocket
Sharp cutter

Not sure I like the name 'Moonpie' much, but I think they are pretty nice looking knives. I like the single blade trappers, I've mostly got two bladed trappers and they are a little heavy in the pocket.

Hi folks -

Since my last name is Moon, a few people over the years have called me "moon pie" as a nickname.

Not the worst thing I have been called.

I did not know that there was a pattern called a Moon Pie.

For the record; Banana.

best regards -

And here's one in buffalo.

The shield has actually started to grow on me; I really like the contrast against the dark scales.
