I've been on a Sodbuster kick as of late and my most recent purchase was a 2006 #3103 Moore Maker large Sodbuster. At 4 5/8" closed and with 3 5/16" of blade, it is a handful of Sodbuster. Does anyone know who actually makes it. As I understand, a lot of the Moore Makers are made in the Queen factory. Here are a few shots with my old standby Case Sodbuster for comparison.

I spoke to the good folks in Matador, TX after I got mine.
I had thought it was a Camillus but I was disabused of the notion and told in no uncertain terms that the large delrin handled sodbuster was in fact made by Queen.
Mine is also stamped for model year "2006" beside the pattern number.

I searched a few threads about the same subject and it seems that Queen, Camillus & more recently Bear & Sons have all made various models for MM. If your knife has a "B" at the end of the model # it was made by Bear otherwise it could depend on it's age. Also seems that many of the lower end knives were made by Bear and maybe some by Camillus. Then there is the Delrin/Horn/other scale materials which could determine maker also.

**There ya go, Queen it is!

Nice knife. I always have a soft spot for that MM shield.

I think the 'MATADOR, TEXAS' stamp is a nice touch too.

To all here who've bought one of these MM sodbusters, how's the side-to-side blade play on yours? I've got a couple the large ones too, and there is a little sideways play in 'em. Aside from that, I think they're pretty nice knives.

Thanks for the information. I wonder why Queen doesn't sell a large Sodbuster (or Country Cousin)?

This one isn't new, but it is in great shape. Solid lockup and no side play whatsoever. I tend to carry a larger knife and a smaller knife on me everyday so this one will definitely see some pocket time.

Me too. I keep hoping Queen will make a large version of the Country Cousin in D2. I'd jump all over it if they did. All the better if they made it with some of the excellent wood they've used in some of their other knives, such as the current zebrawood line. I think stabilized wood would be perfect for it.

I'm glad you got a solid one. Thanks.
