Moore maker vs case?

Absolutely. Just listen to any argument between 2-spring and 3-spring stockman enthusiasts. It gets ugly real fast.

The Buck stops here...

(Okay...I can see I've worn out my welcome...:p)

So Frank, in an argument between two knife enthusiasts would "Get crinked!" be fighting words? ;):p

Well, I've seen both your mugs in the "Mug Thread" and then of course there's my mug in the "Mug Thread" and I don't think Frank ought to be talking ugly here.:)

Back to knives - My advice to the OP (RescueRiley) is to try to find and handle (hand pick) a knife if possible. Case knives are sold in most hadware stores. You can often find Moore Maker knives in feed and grain stores, or western wear/hardware stores such as the Grange and stores like the Big R.

Be careful what you wish for...

Back on topic...

Rescue, there have been some good suggestions here. Another option besides Case, Moore Maker (Queen built), and the Queen built Winchesters is some of the stag or synthetic handled "Eye Brand" knives which can still be found online. These are good serviceable knives and available with both carbon and stainless steel. I only have experience with the carbon steel versions.

If you can live with the funky delrin, some of the Camillus built Remington knives are also available and feature good carbon steel blades as well. These are generally pretty inexpensive.

Yes, the Eye Brand stockman is good, I have the 3.5" and 4.25" yellow versions. Sometimes there may be gaps on the scales, but the blades are very well done.

Don't forget Böker, they make some good stockmans, too, at about the same price as Case.

Howdy, I just wanted to thank everyone for the input.. I ended up getting a case 63375 in yeller with CV blades.. It Just arrived today.. and while large it is still an elegant beauty. incidentally a svord peasant knife also arrived.. Now the dilemma, is deciding which I like more.. LOL I know without pics none of this means a thing, but I'll try to get some in use pics up over the weekend.
