Ok, I'm strapped for time, and my knife stuff is lacking. I gotta trip coming up soon, but we need to get some stuff happening sooner than that.
One person with little time available, doesn't give much goods, but alot of people with a little time on their hands, well, that's alotta time.
So, I thought, perhaps, some help is in order. As Beckerheads, we love knives, all kinds of knives. Wanna help?
If so, here's what I'm asking for, some good head to head reviews, BKT vs. ????.
Each review will cover
Price (market value is fine)
Power cuts
General cutting duties (monkey fist grip, shaving maker)
Fine cutting duties (fuzzies)
Firesteel scraping
Sharpening (regular, not field sharpening)
In addition to that, some call this stuff abuse, I'll let each of you make the call if you want to add it
Clubbing (batonning with and cross grain)
Chopping
Prying
Metal to metal contact
If you want to beat up a car with your BK14, feel free, but prepare to be possibly flamed and ridiculed. I'm asking for good comparison reviews.
Don't sugar coat it, be fair and honest, and respectful of every knife and maker, though. If you wanna call it crap, you better have good data to back it up.
Feel free to compare BKT to BKT, BKT to Kabar, or any other knife you want, but try to keep in the same weight class. Don't make it BK9 vs. Mora No. 1, that's just lame. Pick of couple of guys that can give it a good run, and let them battle it out.
Just make a post, with the title of "BK(x) vs. (Opponent name here)" and lay it out.
Is this a contest? No, it isn't.
Will there be prizes? Possibly.
What's the catch? No catch, just some serious head to head reviews. If you don't wanna do it, don't do it, its for fun, and knowledge.
Chat here about possible matchups, and maybe even team up with another member, if you don't have said knife, perhaps a split review would work.
Do I have to sign up? no, please gawd no, just do it, just remember the title thing, it will help to know whats going on.
Its your post, so there is no limit to how many pics (cept BFC limits), video's whatever, doesn't matter to me.
Anyone can do it, no limits on participants, but you do have to have a BKT knife.
So what do you think ? Good idea?
