Mora Clipper Blued

I'm going to the gun and knife show tomorrow to see what all the fuss is about these 'moras'
I actually was at a table, and this lady said "here, ya wanna good knife? try this" and it was incedentally a green issue mora.. I wasnt impressed 5 years ago. It looked nice, but cheap. she said "here, ill give you anything on this table if you can break this knife" I was like 'really?' Of course I couldnt break it but, it seemed like a gimmick to me at the time... I passed it up..
Incedentally, I was in Norway for a few weeks on maneuvers, and when i got my 5 hours off, we went down into town, and checked out the locals.. .BRILLIANT country that is... wow. I may even retire there. This place was like Aspen, on steroids...but 1000% smarter. But anyways. ...as anyone on this board would do, I went straight for the knives first. They were all the typical 'scandanavian' style knifes (mora styles) with simple leather slip sheaths.. Very nice worksmanship, RAZOR sharp, and VERY cheap.. I had no idea what I was holding in my hands.. Now that I look back, I should have bought one of those knives.. Boy was I ignorant.... I bought trinkets for my parents instead... Which was a great gesture, but.. I wasnt aware of the quality of their indigenous steels in the summer of 2000....
Now I am. And now Im goin to the gunshow with a purpose...
Tell ya what.. If I get this new position Im gunning for (very lucrative) I told myself I'm going back to norway someday.. When I do, Ill locate some of these 150 dollar handmade wonder knives (that are WAYYY cheaper there) and ship em to you guys at cost lol.

GibsonFan, I have both the 12c27 and carbon versions of the SwAK and like both a lot. Both are easily sharpened and both hold the edge fairly well. Because of where I am and where I will most likely carry the knife, I prefer the stainless version.

You would be able to find both versions, along with a huge selection of other Mora knives at Ragweed forge. I'm sure that you will find a knife that suits your needs.

Ragnar has a really good reputation around here, I'll go there for my next one.

I for one am gonna hold you to that! :D

I don't see how you can go wrong with a mora, if you hate it so much it's not worthy of even your tool box or car trunk, someone here would probably buy it off you, heh.

Shit... I think theyre kinda slick in a simple kind of way. Yea, theyre not some high speed, hand polished D2 drop point hunter, hand made by Al Mar himself, but then again, theyre not 500 bucks either. Hell, for that matter, I could have 35 moras for that price! lol. I could have one in my trunk, toolbox, garage, kitchen drawer, on my person, in my bedroom, in my ruck, on my lbe, give one to my girl, put one on her LBE too, give one to my fishing buddy, (GREAT fishing knives) and still have 24 of em left lol. A better value in my opinion. Ive just never owned one, but.. hopefully will tomorrow

(and if i get my job, ill send you whatever you want from norway! no skin off my back lol)

Nope. All they had, in the entire gun show, was a stainless 'youth' or boyscout version (with the hand guards).

Here we have two Clippers, both high carbon.
The top one is Blued with Birchwood Casey "Super Blue".

Simply follow the directions on the bottle.
I did 3 applications, with cold water rinses/wipes in between each application.

When finished you may not think it's a very deep color, but wait 24 hours, it will darken some mora by the following day. ;)
Hmm i'm curious where did you get the green and black Carbon steel Mora? I thought the green and black handled ones were stainless and the red and black handled ones were carbon? Actually i personally prefer the Green and black scheme the best. I was going to order the red and black handled carbon blade but if i can get a carbon mora in black and green even better!

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=78455

Most everyone who has ordered these from SG has reported receiving a carbon steel blade (including myself), but I recall at least one person on here reporting receiving a stainless version when they ordered this knife from SG.
Thanks for the info but Sportsmansguide is a no go. They don't like Canadians, and won't ship here at all.

I'm limited to Ragweed or Bensoutdoors on ebay. Neither have green and black handled carbon moras.
Unless of course someone here knows other online sources for moras?

Yeah thanks for the link! But as i mentioned above i was looking for a carbon steel bladed mora clipper with black and green handle. The model in the link above is 12c27 Sandvik Steel (stainless). I actually ordered this exact same one from that seller last week.
What i wanted to purchase next was a black and green handled Carbon steel mora. Most Carbon steel Moras have the black and red handle like this

Anyway if anyone knows a seller of Carbon steel mora clippers with black and green handles please post it here for the benefit of all.
Thanks.
