Mora companion vs Mora 511

Also, USMCPOP, any follow up on this? I really want to know more about this break.
Two videos. He says he's intentionally abusing it to the point of breaking. Note that at one point, he beat down on the top of the handle, which caused the break. The second vid is just him extracting the tang from the handle with a hacksaw and screwdriver.

After using both, of the two I prefer the Companion. The blade is longer and there is no protruding hand guard to get in the way. If my specific tasks led to be feel a need for the handguard, then I wouldn't be averse to using the 511.

They're both excellent cutting tools, though.

gotcha, I wasn't sure if this was something you'd done yourself.
Okay- well needless to say it can be done if you work at it.

As much as I like finger guards like on the 511, the companion grip is so good. I really like the rubber texture and shape. I beat the snot out of mine and never felt like it would slip forward.

Definitely get both, the 511 is what, six bucks some places? It's the best knife deal going on today.
I have a safety orange 511 as a general house and garden knife, it is thick enough to dig and pry... I remember some dude saying he couldn't cut mushrooms with it, or dig a hole LOL. I have the Companion HD ready to go in my pack with 50ft of paracord next to it.

The Companion HD honestly does feel a bit better and more solid in the hand, cause of the grip material and lack of guard, but the 511 is just so worth it. Get the 511 with rubberized overlay on the plastic handle, that version is a bit better. They have rubber coated and non-rubber coated 511s.

Here are mine for comparison, the top two:
