Mora Disappointment

Did you order that one from Ragweed Forge?

The reason I ask is that there is a disclaimer up on their Mora 510s saying:

This model has been discontinued, but I have a fair supply left. Remaining stock has a cosmetic grinding flaw at the tip. This shouldn't materially affect the function of the knife, and will be only a memory after you sharpen the knife a few times.

^^^ See above.

And if it really bothers you, after all you have read, and sometimes that happens, email me and I will take it off your hands at a fair price.

Are you really spending your time scrutinizing the grind and photgraphic flaws on a $20 plastic handled beater knife?

Go cut some shit with it! I have a feeling that the bushes you cut with it won't notice. :D

Hey, let's be fair to the guy, some times a thing bothers a guy, and that is just life.

Also, if you read his successive posts, he indicates that he was taking the feedback.

Seriously guys, I got it out of my system. I convexed it, I cut the bejeesus out of some wood and palm tree fronds, gave myself a little cut, cut up and ate a couple sausages with it. All is well with the world.

A Mora is for using not looking at. Go beat it up and have fun.

Exactly. The only ones left have the odd tip. I ordered three from Ben's Backwoods, and two of the three showed the cosmetic flaw more. After you use the carbon blade a while, it's not going to matter much.

Here's the best of the three I received, and if I examine it up close, I still see a bit of a grind mark at the tip.

You might try the Martiini 571, a similar blade in a puukko style.

Edited to add:

And there are lots of other good options for a carbon blade Mora.
