Really happy with these blades My user easily shaves hair and whittles like a dream, I noticed when held up to the light that there are several almiost micro chips or imperfections on the edge,.. I normally sharpen w/ a 600 grit diamond pl

that/is/damn/funny:):)

I would finish with a smoother stone, and strop a micro bevel on in. I use mine for woodworking mainly, so the better the polish, the better it will slice through wood.

Also, Moras are ground by machine. Sometimes the edge gets a little to hot. To cure this, go at it with a course stone to get into some good steel. finish off with finer, and finer grit as usual.

Most of the Moras I've received have small grooves running from the top of the scandi-grind down to the edge. They're uniform in spacing and size, and run the length of the blade. SOmetimes one side is more "grooved" than the other. I think this is caused by the robot grinding/sharpening process.

If they truly are chips, they'll come out over time as you sharpen. I cut some stuff a couple of weeks ago with the Mora 510 and chipped the blade in several places (probably 4 or 5 chips, very small but seen with the "nude" eye :) ). All of them are gone after two resharpenings of the entire bevel using 800 waterstone followed by a 1200.

Hold "Alt" and type 0032 for space if your bar isn't working.
PITA but it works in a pinch.

My 510 chips some, at first I ground them out, now I just wait for them to go away from repeated sharpening. My laminated blade has not chipped at all.
