I dont like them, anybody got a picture of when they rehandled theirs? I figure it would be a fun project to try. I remember seeing a picture of an x-ray of four or five moras so you could see the tang but I did a few searches and could not find it again, anybody have it so I could see?

Thanks,
Matt

Here it is. Also, Ragweed Forge sells a lot of blades from the different Scandi manufacturers, in case you wanted to put a handle on a blade shape you didn't already have.

+1 I agree longbow50, I'd rather have ugly handles that funtion/feel good than pretty ones that don't.
(their are some analogies here but I'm not going there! :D )

:) Thanks guys, thats the one.
I know they are grippy and everything, I just cant get past the ugliness sometimes!
I just figure it would be fun to give it a go and maybe try out some different ergonomics, I was also wondering if anybody else around here has done it too.
Looks like I'll be ordering a couple of 510's.

I know that there are those that have done up their own handles on Mora knives, cause I've seen em. Hopefully they'll post here for you.

I just posted this in another thread (copy and paste)
"My Moras (crappy pic)

The second from the top is my favorite, because the blade is not too short not too long (4 1/4 inches) and because the handle fits my hand perfect.
After that it would be the Clipper and the laminated one on the bottom.
Actually the Mora 2000 is very comfortable also, the river knife is also comfortable i'm just not crazy about double guards.
I do like the Triflex Craftsman however i find the guard just a bit to long. Hmmm i guess i like them all.lol!
Number 2 and number 6 are "kit" mora blades. Assembled very quickly with no great finesse but very functional and solid.
The wood in number 2 is from an old cutting board i almost threw out. I believe in recycling, lol!
Number 6 has a maple handle and it may seem really short but is actually hand-filling and comfortable."

I'm fairly happy with the two moras i "built/assembled". I think i'm going to order some more mora blades soon, and possibly some Helle's from Ragweed. I'm going to try to find some more exotic wood this time though and really take my time and be really anal about fit and finish.

i don't care much for most of the mora handles....:( however i do like the the handles on their woodcarvers... i have a few different versions of those.. i think they are #120 and #122 or something...
