Mora Kansbol in carbon?

I suck at photoshop. Are you implying I made the pic with photoshop? Lol

I have a bunch of knives but this is the first time I bought a Mora. I wanted a stainless blade I could also use for food prep. When I saw the carbon thing, I was a bit dismayed. So I'm just trying to figure out what the deal is.

Like I said, when Mora responds, I'll post the response here.

I ordered one last week from the Atlantic Knife Company and got a "carbon" etched one too, but in the burnt orange model.
Going to dip in in some vinegar and see if it is, or just a "somebody set the laser etcher wrong" mistake.

I ordered an orange one recently from Amazon - I'll take a look at the stamp and report back. I didn't notice anything but I didn't specifically check the stamp for any reason...now I have a reason!

I sent a message to "Thomas Morakniv" on Facebook. Thomas Eriksson is the Product Manager. I'll see if he has any comments.

I messaged Thomas and a few others as well, including their official Facebook account.

To be totally OCD, I then emailed their customer service email address from their website.

No response from anyone, in any form, has yet to be received. If they do, I’ll follow up here too.

I’m starting to lean toward the possibility that this is a factory error on the marking. If so, maybe it’s going to be collectible ha ha.

Edit: for spelling mistake

lol such intrigue for such minutiae : )

yes, I'm curious also, my bet is the stamp setting was left on 'carbon' and it was missed or let out anyway
... I'd be upset if it actually turns out to be fake, if you have to worry about fake mora's on the lowest price scale, then it's just too much nonsense, if true, then we should just all switch to direct orders only

tbh - I'd rather have a kansbol in 14c28n

Reminds me of humorist Dave Barry's bit on electricity: ... in the past decade scientists have developed the laser, an electronic appliance so powerful that it can vaporize a bulldozer 2000 yards away, yet so precise that doctors can use it to perform delicate
operations to the human eyeball, provided they remember to change the power setting from "Bulldozer" to "Eyeball."

I seemed to have found our answer on the “Morakniv Fans” Facebook group.

This quote is from Facebook user Thomas Morakniv:

Yes, it is a misprint. The whole batch was recalled from our distributors when we found out, Unfortunatly some samples had reached retailers and end consumers. You can use your lifetime warranty and have the knife exchanged where you bought it. Or keep it as a "misprinted collectors item" ;)

While we are emailing Mora ask where the extra colors or the kansbol are. Would love to see the kansbol in all the colors we get the eldris in.

oddly enough, now we know it's a 'misprint' ...
I just realized it isn't really a misprint - all steel has 'carbon' in it, both stainless & non

moral of story; even when you think mora has screwed up, they haven't ; P

actually the only thing I think they've done 'wrong' recently is they got rid of the old classic birch lineup

Checked mine last night (received mid-May) and it is stamped "Stainless"...
