I've come across some disposable income after working some overtime so I've had the luxury of picking up a couple knives. One was a SYKCO 711 ( Killer Value!!), a Project CRK Pacific that I got a killer deal on, A Strider DB-L that I flipped for a few extra bucks and just for grins a Mora Robust for about $16 shipped.

High carbon steel, workable sheath, comfy in the hand and very sharp. I've got a couple Roselli Puukko knives in UHC with sexy feeling birch handles but at $120 they aren't exactly a steal. I've heard people speak highly of Mora knives but I didn't expect such a solid feeling and useful knife. I just got into sharpening so this will be a great blade to use the Hell out of and butcher if necessary. I can't provide a review of any kind right meow but so far I am very impressed with this knife. Go and buy one now and stop posting "What's the best survival/bushcraft knife" and go buy one, This would be hard to beat.

Last camping trip my Mora companion got more use than any of my other knives except maybe my BK9. And I had brought a whole lot of knives just to try out and play with. I Have a Companion HD which is supposed to be similar to the robust but I actually prefer the thinner blade of the regular companion. If the Companion can't handle something then I'll just go straight for one of my Becker knives. And that doesn't happen very often.

The Robust Moras and HD Companions really have got my attention. I'm gonna wind up with one like yours eventually, but for the time being am satisfied with my HD Companion. They (Mora) are just doing what they do best, and at the same time cater towards the more "American" knife tastes. Just a typical Mora with more beef to it. I own a lot of higher end fixed blades (Busse, SYKCO, Swamp Rat, and Becker), and keep my Moras near. For lighter task, and woodworking they are perfected. Still a Mora is for cutting, but I do like the heavier models, and feel that they still cut quite well.

Meow much thicker is the Robust blade? I love my Mora 346G, and use it to field dress and butcher deer. I went through 3 deer last year without sharpening, and the blade still shaved in spots. A few swipes on a DMT red diamond and it was back to hair poppin sharp, as it came. Love a bevel knife (scandi).

All right meow, enough of this silliness!

Moras are the perfect knives to keep extra ones for lending out. Fantastic knife, disposable price.

I bought one as a yard beater, and find myself using it a lot! Great blade for cutting and holds a nice edge. Comfortable handle too! Mora knives are a great value.

Meow tell you, those Scrapyard 711's (basically any of the the Scrapyard series) are fantastic for performance to price.

I need to get some Mora's.

The older I get the meow I appreciate thinner stock, and meow simple designs.

It does not hurt that a lot of these thinner classic designs, are meow more affordable!

Meow!

Meow then, you just need to acquire all of the Mora models and post up a review here.

I love my Mora. Different model, and I bought it here on the forum from a member who also made a kydex neck sheath for it with a Tek-Lok belt attachment. It served better than all the other tools at two of our Scout campouts.

. . . meow . . . ;)

Well, meow that I think about it, my only beef with the 711 is that is that the handle feels a bit thin for the blade size. Back to the Mora, meow. Used it for cutting up veggies for dinner ( and of course, the steak). A bit thick to be great for slicing as compared to thinner kitchen knives but very handy. Not shaving sharp new like the knives I've worked on but more than adequate. I may have to get another.

I really like the Forest Bushcrart in Sandvic.
The handle is a little more plump than other models and is very comfortable.
The unique scalloped blade is also a bit larger and incredibly useful. It solves the poor slicing through vegetable issue associated with scandi blades..

Just noticed there was a couple spots on it after the kitchen chores. Looks like I'll be doing my Salmon pattern patina and a strop. Will post follow up pics.

That's the blade style from the old Mora 2000, with an upgraded handle.

My last Moreow order had two Heavy Duties and three stainless Companions. I find that the Companions are more than adequate and better slicers than the H.D.'s. I tried to bust a Companion by battoning fire wood. No breakage, it didn't even loosen up.
