Mora #S-1 or CS Finn Bear?

I would go with the Cold Steel Finn Bear as it is razor sharp out of the box and a very good, inexpensive work knife.

what is the sheath made out of? For $16.99 on crocblades.com this seems to be a good deal. The Sisu goes for $240 on the same site. It seems a little high. I guess San Mai steel cost alot. The Sisu sure is a nice looking knife. The Finn Bear will make nice inexpensive gifts.

The sheath is of a stiff cordura nylon, much like the ones that come with some of the Marble knives. I like them better than those that come with most of the Frosts Moras, which have occupied much better sheaths from other knives in my collection. If you own a number of fixed blades, you can usually find a pouch type that will accept these inexpensive knives quite nicely.

I'm not easily impressed,...but these two offerings from CS deserve a "round of applause", and a "test drive" from anyone remotely interested in knives. They are really that good.

You know it's funny. I have two new in box CS Master Hunters in carbon V sitting next to my computer, earmarked as Christmas gifts, but unless the recipient is knowledgeable about knives, they would probably be better served receiving a Finn Bear or Roach Belly.

pretty much all the posts on the wilderness forum have been positives for the CS.

funny to see elitism for $10 knives

Yes,..it is funny. I have two customs in CPM steel that together set me back close to a thousand, and many high end production knives, yet I'm really excited about these inexpensive knives. I'm not afraid to pay for a quality product, but I'm equally impressed by outstanding values, which I truly feel these knives represent.
