Moran, old or new?

If you have the option of choosing between an old style moran featherweight with the leather sheath (and try and get a kydex aftermarket sheath) and the new style with the kydex sheath, which would you choose? I don't know, the old moran looks prettier plus it's got that moran edge. But the new moran is a complete carry ready package (I do like my sheaths in kydex). Or should I buy the old moran now and get another one when the new ones come into regular distribution over here (holland).

I just got the new Moran recently and my first inclination is to say "Get the new one!" however I think you should get both.
Follow that urge Mr. Blonde!
They are not expensive and you can have the best of both worlds.
I've put the shiny one(with the leather sheath) into the collection for the time being as I REALLY like this new one.
I love this Kydex carrying system Sal and the gang have come up with, and the satin finish and beveled edge(extremely sharp BTW) on the new one make me feel better about using it. I'm not so worried about scratching the mirror polished surface on the old model. Just a pet peeve of mine. I usually don't buy mirror polished knives because I can't bear to use them and risk scratching that beautiful finish. I couldn't resist the call of the Moran though and took the plunge. Totally glad I did!
If you like the Kydex, get the new one first!
Enjoy!

Thanks for the info misque. I think I will go for the new one, it will be a user because of the finish and I will be able to fully appreciate the knife. Rather than the old one, which would be hard to fully use because of the mirror finish. Yesterday, I also phoned my distributor of spyderco knives and they said they already had the new ones! So today, I ordered one. Now I am just hoping that they will send me the new one and not the older one.

I hope they send you the right one! Well, with this knife you really can't go wrong either way!

Enjoy!
