Moran or Temperance?

I'm thinking about purchasing a relatively inexpensive fixed blade knife to strap on the side of the pack or my hip belt. I like these because of their utiliatarian designs and weather-resistant features like the Kydex sheaths and synthetic handles. Which one is better for all-around camp use? Which would you prefer for a self defense application (I read in TK that the Temperance is designed for animal self defense or something along those lines)? I really like the SpyderEdge serrations, how is a Temperance with those? Thanks for the help and opinions. God bless you, and God bless America.

I'd also go for the Temp for an outdoor/camping knife. I've used it many a time around the campsite. However, I've used the Moran a few more times at hunt camp skinning game. Either one is fine, but the Temp has more heft and will make quicker work of most camp chores.

I have a PE Temperance. It's a fine slicer/cutter, it works well in the kitchen and in the campsite too.

Just don't be chopping branches with those, and they are fine.

I recently got one as well for camping, but not without my gerber hachet.
