Moran photos

Hi Jim,

The pleasure was also mine. It is not too often I get a chance to photograph such reknowned work, and I found the diversity of this set appealing.

Most Moran's I encounter remind me of the ST23, and, for me, that's the clunker of the bunch, but all the others are simply great customs from that era.

I also enjoy sharing my work and methods. Yes, it's the subtle changes that can make a good photo a great photo.

We are lucky to have such a good single source to refer back to. Thanks!

Coop

Coop,

Thanks again for really showing these knives in their best light, literally.

I hope that you are having a good NY Show.

Absolutely wonderful, Jim. Will and Kevin expressed my sentiments. those are what could be called the Crown Jewels of knife collecting.

Some of Moran's knives may not appeal to the nowadays
collector (myself included) and especially to the younger ones,
but they all do have a great historical value when dealing with
modern knife art. This also reflects on the price tag attached
to any one of them....

All the best,

Continuing the theme here, I might as well throw up another of Coop's images of a Moran, this one an M-2. It sure does look truly "common" when put up beside your collection, Jim.

That ST24 has what I feel is one of the best looking blades of any of the 24's that I have seen. I have been fiddling around for a couple of years trying to figure out the shape and proportions of that knife and this one nails it, even more so than some of Bill's MUCH fancier versions. While I am not so sure that I like the pointed quillions as much, all of the curves, angles and proportions of the blade just seem right.

Thanks, Murray.

Bob, I think Coop did a great job on the M-2. It's probably around 50 years old. Styles change, but I still like the older Morans.

Dave, a couple of these must look familar.

Joe, To me the best thing about the ST-24 is how it feels just right in the hand. It really has great balance.

Jim,
Your Morans are, as already mentioned, incredible.
Coop's images show that, thanks for sharing.
You too, Bob. :)
