So I have been searching for more info on Moran ST-23 fighting folders. I know that there are 2 that were made by Bill.

Does anyone know if anyone else has done any ST-23 inspired folders?

Any pics or info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chuck

I do think i remember one posted here on this subforum, many years ago.. though can't remember any details..

There are a few Moran folders on pg 265 of DDD's "The Great Collections". They are lock backs and a slip joint, not sure if they are ST-23's.

Here is a pic of 3 Moran folders, Ii' referencing the middle one.

I had never seen one and was curious as to how Mr Moran would make a folder look like a ST-23. Now I know. Blade Forums continues to educate us on a daily basics.

I wonder if that example or any one was part of fighter/folder ST-23 set?

Chuck: Any dimensions on those folders? The middle one looks right up your alley. Did you not have a folder with similar bolsters a few years ago? .....perhaps just top bolster.

I think that the middle one is about 6in closed?

I did a folding Scagel that had brass bolsters and looked like a fixed blade when it was opened.

I have a knife that is going to Coop for Photos that should stir up some interest.

Very cool folder. I think the design would only need a slight update to be something very "tacticool". Or it could be left as is and just be a plain nice folder. But it screams "CQC folder" to me. Maybe Emerson could make something out of that.

Cool thread, Chuck.

I can't stop admiring the bottom folder in this trio. For me, it's probably my very favorite Moran (the ST24 in a class all it's own, though). I'd druther have that one than the ST23 folder.
