I talked to a man today who said he had a buck 110 sp.ed 1981 etched with weiser lock on the blade, huntington beach. he said he had gotten it as a promo from weiser back then. I checked Levine's book ed #4 (very useful) it was not listed. I understandhe did not make that list. My question is can one assume there are more special editions out there that are not listed? Does someone have a more complete listing? Thanks

There are more varieties of the Buck 110s out there than anyone could EVER catalogue.

Most of the Knife books don't consider the 110 collectable on top of the variety, so they make little effort to compile a decent list.

I have suggested to both Joe and CJ that they open a branch plant in Tenino. I would use most of the budget very wisely to collect one of every Buck 110 ever made.

And even print a list with pics.

What do you think?

Dave, I vote for you as branch manager, and to show my support, I would be willing to sacrifice my blade etch collection for only a fraction of what it cost me (plus a reasonable handling fee).

On the line of etched blades not listed, I am the proud owner of one of ten that was produced in '88 by Angie Williams, an artist working for Aarrum Etchings in Garland. She did a drawing of two raccoons fishing in an icy creek and had the blades etched, assembled by Buck and gave them to family as christmas presents. I received the only one outside the family due to our friendship. That was what got me started on BUCK 110 blade etch collecting. So there are others than what is shown in Levine's.

Mikeo,

Levines shows a lot of the specials done to the 110 but not all of them. We don't even know of all the variations. Often times a company will buy our knives and make their own special edition. The only way we ever find out about it is from folks who have purchased one and call us asking about it.
The knife you described falls into that category .

Take care,
