Just wanted to share an email that I received from BladeHQ. I had questions about a knife that was released recently and that I couldn't find any info about. I emailed asking if anyone there had handled one and this was the response that I got:

Hey Taylor,
Thanks for your email. I grabbed a black and brown Maxace from the warehouse and have them here on my desk. I also asked some of the guys her in CS their thoughts after holding and looking at them. One of the guys added it straight to his wish list. Feel free to give us a call 1-888-252-3347 and ask for Jared.
Initial thoughts- nice light weight for size, solid feel, smooth ball bearing system. From bladeforums.com someone put that they are a division of Stedemon knives, both out of China.

To your questions, solid lock-up and smooth release. Also solid detente, maybe not as heavy as a Zero Tolerance but holds very well. Zero blade play, however because of a straight G-10 scale on the one side, if you push it hard, the scale flexes just a little. Really nothing I would be worried about for light to medium use.

About the steel from http://bestpocketknifetoday.com/discovering-the-best-knife-steel
The VG-10 steel is very similar to 154CM and ATS-34 with slightly more chromium but also contains vanadium which makes it marginally “better” than these two. It originated not too long ago from Japan and has been slowly introduced into the American market by respect knife makers like Spyderco. It’s really hard and can get extremely sharp but also a little brittle. Overall we like this steel a lot.

Hope this helps, give us a call or email if you have any additional questions.
Thanks,

Now, to me, that is above and beyond and so freaking awesome of someone to do. I basically emailed asking for a mini-review of a knife and they delivered. Well done, BladeHQ! You will continue to be my favorite! :)

I have purchased from them before in fact i own 2 knives from them great experience no complaints what so ever will buy from them again.

They are located a few miles from me and I'm in there all the time. You couldn't do business with better people, honestly. They love knives and making people happy.

Another +1 for BladeHQ. Fast and reasonable shipping. All transactions that I had with them have been very smooth.

Dang, I really need to find time to go into their shop. I've ordered from them before knowing they were just about an hour away from me.
