More budget Spyderco!

Alright, narrowed down a bit, I think I'm jumping onto a Translucent Blue Manix 2, with plain edge. I'm having a harder time finding a new one that's not overpriced. Any suggestions?

Also, any other models with ball bearing lock, either caged or not in the 100 dollar price range? P'kal was another option, as was Sage 3. I don't know alot about the bolt action lock though.

You really can't.

I don't think there is another knife manufacturer who is more in tune with the
many, varied demands of their customers.

Smart really, once everyone has a knife,
you have to get creative if you want them
each to purchase 3 more! :p

I know you have recently caught the bug MP. How is thwt ZDP slicer holding up so far? I need to get a second one of those.

P,kal is not so much EDC. I had a sage 3 but sold it as I loved the FFG manix ergos much more.

I love the Sage 3. It is a good working knife. I enjoy the bolt-action lock very much. I do not own the blue Manix, but handled it at a knife store. I just did not like it for some reason, not sure why. I know I would rather have G10 and S30V over CTS BD1 and FRN also.

The Sage 3 is a great knife. It has the smoothest action out of most Spyderco's I've owned.
That being said another good one is the Spyderco Chaparral.

In your price range:
Japan:
Delica/Endura
Stretch
Salt Series
Dragonfly
Cricket
Spin
Balance
Ladybug/Manbug/Jester
Caly - seems you can get them in the $100 range
Urban
Centofante 3
Meerkat
USA:
Manix 2/XL
Para2
UKPK
Native - Best bang for your buck in my opinion.
Taiwan:
Chaparral
Sage 1 or Sage 3
Chicago/Cat
Italy:
Squeak
China:
Tenacious line
Byrd Line

If you haven't checked out the Native - I suggest you do.
If you haven't checked out the slip-its - They're really great knives. They are in no comparison to a Case like you said earlier.

Also, give other locking mechanisms a try. You'll learn to love and appreciate a lot of them in time.

I understand, but the budget discussion suddenly involved $100+ knives. For most those are not.budget blades ;)

True! I guess I've been collecting to long. I was comparing the new models going for 200 plus. Normally, I wouldn't call budget 100 dollars, this is a good bit of money. The label was given at 100 to get me out of the entry level offerings.

My other thought was that I love the new materials Spyderco is offering, but if they made a budget version I'd be all over them. G10 or FRN works well for me, super steel is nice but vg10 is excellent for what I use, I don't need titanium, ect...

And I'd believe some models now to expensive would be more available.
