The more I carry my C-46 tanto folder on weekends the more I want to see another Spyderco/Bob Lum collaboration. I bet I'm not alone with that desire am I???

Spyderco's collaborations are so classy and so well made I am surprised that not only another LUM but also another JD Smith and Zowada collab would be well in order too.

I would even bet that another Massad Ayoob design would be a winner as well. Anybody agree with me?????

I think Sal and Eric are two of the best knife designers around but i would also like to see some more collaborations

I would even like to see some of more obscure Spyderco collaborators. One I would like to see do another blade because his first and only one with Spyderco was such a classic, unique design>> and that guy is Massad Ayoob. I love that first one so much that I am really confused why he hasn't done anything else with them.

Also now that the Gunting model has really achieved an almost cult status it would be interesting to see what else Bram Frank could do on another Spyderco Collaboration.

I still think that JD Smith might be the most ignored designer of the Spyderco Collaborations. But mark my words in 2 years from now there will be bid wars for the Spyderco JD Smith.

No company has nearly as good of collaborations as does The Great Spyder Factory

hey lebowski, i asked a similar question in the spyderco forums. from what i gather, the anso rocklobster does not, as of yet, have a determined release date, but the protoype has been shown at shows to gauge consumer reaction.

but yeah, i would love to see a kevin wilkins collaboration: leafstorm, ghost dog [pup], or the ryback.

I'm gonna go ahead and echo the Kevin Wilkins comment. I would love to see Spyderco turn one of his models into a production piece.

Fine thing about having a Custom Knifemakers name on a production knife is that, it sells. And quite frankly the design or appearence of the knife can sometimes more often than not, become a secondary factor to the eventual purchase of such a knife. More so if a particular Knifemaker is riding high on fame and popularity of the "current fad charts".

But of course, if it's really that bad in styling either by poor design sense or quality of manufacture - it immediately becomes a lemon. Rest assure that Spyderco has some very serious collectors, it would be safe to assume that any lemon would eventually become a collectable in years to come mainly because of it's rarity in private ownership.

And I do so agree to the idea that Spyderco continues to look into the furtherment of having an expanded pool of custom knifemaker collaborations. But let's stay clear away from those fancy art knives, as that produced from a rather known American knife importer which outsources in Taiwan.

I'd like to see a Benchmade/Spyderco colab in the spirit of the Spyker. I sometimes refer to knives from either company as Spydermades now, given what I perceive to be a lot of ideas and qualities being traded between the two.

Spydercos with axis locks would be cool...

But I'd really like to see a redisgned chineese folder! Maybe with a ball bering lock or a lock back...that liner lock used to move on me sometimes , but I really loved that thing.

Spyderco + Lum = Bliss

The Bob Lum collaborations are ALL Classics. I can't name one that isn't. The Chinese LUM is super but so are the Tantos>> the C-46 folder and the FB03 fixed blade.

The ZOWADA is a hidden Super Classic

I love the smith, how bout a cf version, or colored titanium!
How bout a new Zowada streched out to a 3.9 blade?
Terzuola sounds good too.

I'm agree with DOCBOY, a kevin wilkins collaboration will be great, a folder and a fixed like the Ryback!!!

I just read my newest edition of BLADE magazine. There was an article about one of my very favorite knife designers>> that being Phil Boguszewski. One of the very few Benchmade models I still have in my colllection in spite of the fact that I am currently livid with Benchmade ( you all know why  ) is the SPIKE models 640 & 650.

The BLADE article brought the fact that Mr. Boguszewski's work is similar to a BLUE CHIP Stock as far as holding value and as far as steadily gaining in value. I also got to see some of Phil Boguszewski's newest work and it is fantastic.

You have my vote for Phil Boguszewski as a candidate for a possible collaboration. That in my opinion would truly be a win-win deal all the way around. I am not downplaying some of the great suggestions that some of you have lodged but I do believe that this could be a major slam dunk. What the heck>> how about a Spyder-Spike

Man, axis lock? I'd be happy with more of the Spyderco ball locks.

Say, a G-10 handled Endura Wave with a ball lock. Or a Mini Manix with a ball lock.

A C-56 Spyderco Zowada model with a 3.9 to a 4.25 inch blade is an awesome suggestion. I would immediately have to have 3 of them. IF there ever was a Spyder that failed "sales wise" the first go around that deserves another chance it would be the Zowada model.

The Zowada is one that has really perplexed me as to why it was a flop on the first go around. I think it had to do with such a huge amount of big winners during that era. I have always maintained that the 1998 to 2003 era was the GOLDEN era of Spyders. Some would argue with me but I bet more would agree. During that era there was a plethora of premium models

So the Zowada should be entitled to another play on the turntable :D Play it AGain SAL
