Actually, I do like my Dalton CA Special. I bought it from another collector and would like to have the piece refinished. I do however am concerned about the lack of service from Mr. Dalton. Does anyone out there have an address for Mr. Dalton?

Frogman, while I respect you for your Microtech knowledge and dedication, I would ask that you try to tone down posts like this.

I too agree that the Daltons are poorly made Microtech rip-offs. The problem is that there are people out there buying them thinking that they are of the same quality as MT; "All knives are the same, aren't they?"

Complaining about the situation isn't going to fix it. If you want Dalton to A. make better knives, or B. stop making knockoff's it falls on you to do your best to convince people that buying the Dalton isn't the best idea.

Slamming him like this doesn't help your case, though I understand how it helps you vent/calm down. I'd ask that in the future you take a calmer, more rational approach. You know, explain how MT is so much better for all sorts of reasons, etc.

Thanks again

Hey Tom,

Don't sugar coat it. Tell us how you really feel. Actually as long as you attack the product and not so much the man I am ok with the post. Heck I would love to see him come in and defend his product. I too have tried to get ahold of him to no avail but I digress and now make my own. Such is life and as with all we must move on.

I would like to see Tony patent some of his stuff so he can defend his designs. I know it is costly but so are the knives he makes. Me I will make my knives and let them stand on there own lorals. Should I fail I only have myself to blame and not someone hiding out in some scene from Deliverence.

de de ding ding ding de ding ding ding.

(Why did Burt Reynolds or Ned Beatty take that part!)

I posted on the automatic forum about how I felt that Daltons were not that bad when you compare the price to MT. You do get a fair knife at about 1/2 the cost. But in the last day or so I realized that the knife from MT is not all that you get. You also get a company that stands 100% behind everything that they do and make. And as most people know, Dalton is immpossible to find. Well I have made a decision that unless Dalton drasticly changes his methods, I am going to buy MT ONLY from now on when it comes to newer autos. My only question is how could I have been so wrong just a few short days ago?

Microtech warrenty service depends on the day your knife happens to arrive or when you call. Sometimes awesome, sometimes poor. But in the end, they are there to help you if were a bonehead and dissambled your new Halo2.
