Not sure if this is an imposter or not. But look at the "Magnum Camp Bowie" knife on the UK Heinnie Haynes site. The blade shape is reminiscent of a short Bk5 blade, yet the length(5 1/4 inches) is the same as the BK2. It sells for 22.95 pounds ($35.64 USD) and is comprised of 550er stainless steel (whatever that is). Even the sheath is an obvious attempt to copy the Becker sheaths. Hey, Ethan, can you or anyone else shine some light on this?

New design? :foot: They sell legit other Beckers which is the weird part, if it were to be a fake. Is that site known to be legit?

Not sure about those. The handles and sheaths are definite copies, also look at the magnum machete. They don't claim to be Beckers though, from what I can tell. They are a company called Magnum Knives, perhaps more investigation is in order. Sherlock Moose is on the case.

They must be of British manufacture, Heinnie Haynes is the only place I can find them. The look to knock off several different knife designs, but no specific model, just parts. Handles mostly, with different blade shapes. Interesting.

Ze germans! With all this magnum, I have an increased urge to...no not that...buy a magnum camp knife. The real thing too!

Nice Google-fu. Those are so wrong on so many levels.

The original company maybe German, but I believe these "fakes" are made in China.
I think Magnum is the Chinese line of Boker (like Byrd for Spyderco or Red Class for BM) with inferior quality.

That's the knife I said I wanted, but I didn't know it existed! Meaning the design, not a cheap piece of crap rip-off. I want a Magnum Camp that's got no choil, and has about a 4.5-5" blade. That would rock my face off.

Obviously the point is outrage at copying designs and selling them as 'the real deal', but my point stands.

Yo Ethan, I need a legit copy of that cheap copy.

I though Boker made magnum?

aye, now that i read that, it sounds familiar... they're Chinese Bokers ;)

I want a legit version of the magnum chopper
If I were a man of fewer scruples I would buy it

well, you know, i'm *this* close to whipping out my CC# and buying these, just to ... have them. to laugh at.

would not be surprised if Ethan (and his lawyers) pick up a few to examine sometime (order extras for ZIM! i mean me... i'm good for it ;>)

i kinda want a seriously no-nonsense "rambo" Becker chopper like that :) conver the British-Pounds to USA-Dollars and add shipping, it's not TOO bad for a giggle that will last years :) stainless too, won't rust ;)

in the meantime, i've archived their web-ads, and generated PDF output, for the "literature"...

I should just but the Hibben IV and make a better handle for it. Then it will be carbon steel and not stainless

I like the "Becker influence" that they say it has. Here is a link to some photos of the Magnum Bowie in hand.

AND it gets better. Here is the Magnum Chopper with a close-up pic of the logo which says BOKER.

What the hell with all the Becker rip offs lately? There are more and more popping up all the time now. I wouldn't buy it, but I like the look of that machete though.
