Here is another one that was forged from a Nicholson file. The photo doesn't show it, but there are some original "file marks" on the ricasso.

Forged Nicholson File
Some of Don Hanson's Walnut for Scales
Stainless Pins
OAL - 7 1/4"
Blade Tip-to-Handle - 3 1/2"
"Horse-Butt" Leather Sheath

This one is SOLD

Thanks for looking............. Robert

My Goodness, that is one fine file. Betcha, it does not last long.
Congrats Robert!

BTW: How is the arm coming along?

Do you grind the teeth off the file before forging? I've forged a couple blades from files, but have had a hard time with the teeth getting pushed down in the hammer marks so that they're hard to get off of the finished blade without grinding away too much stock. How do you personally forge a file?

Shoot me an email at dark @ darkknives. com

I don't think the MODS want us discussing technique in the for sale forums.

I'll just pick it up this coming Wednesday if that works for you...... I'll be over there for a short doctor appointment anyway......... ;) :D ..... I'll give you a call before then though.
Is that "my kind" of sheath???? ["long loop"]

You got it my friend. If that sheath don't work, I'll bet we can make one that will work.

Thanks, and I'll see you Wednesday.
