The Sebenza gets so much well-deserved air time, but my favorite CRK is the Mnandi. Almost every thread about the Mnandi is focused on the beauty of that knife. Don't get me wrong, it is possibly the most beautiful knife I've ever seen, but this knife can do some work. It seems that mnandi users are rare as hens teeth. I think Chris would be proud of the work I get done with my mnandi.

You mnandi users and admirers out there, post your thoughts and pics.
Cheers.

Unfortunately, when working hard, I rarely top to take a pic, but here is a chore done at mom's house.

Thanks! I agree its pretty, but more importantly, a much tougher knife than most give it credit for.

I don't seem to have any more pics. I guess I'll have to snap some doing weekend chores.

Surely there are other user Mnandi out there......

I have a mnandi that I use at work everyday since 2002. It's a real gem of a knife. I work in a hospital I use my mnandi for tasks like cutting tape, bandages and to open those pesky hard to open plastic bags that medical devices come on theses days. I even cut down a lady that became entangled by the neck by oxygen tubing. I don't baby it at all. It's a Blackwood mnandi and the wood looks really good. Granted it sees relatively light work. I keep it in my scrub top pocket. It's been a faithful companion. When the stuff hits the fan and stress levels go through the roof, I know right where to find my trusty sharp friend.

There's one person who's posted pics of his Mnandi doing thing like cutting open cement bags, maybe he'll show up here.

most of my weekday tasks are light cutting like this....my weekend tasks can be a bit rougher (rope, zip ties, boxes, weed eater twine, sealant/paint etc) . My next knife will be a 21 insingo, but I promised myself I wouldn't buy it until my Mnandi was insufficient for a task, any task....I have been waiting for nearly 2 years......

I agree that the mnandi is a very beautiful knife, my finest knife in my collection. Though I leave hard use to the sebbies, the mnandi is my well dress knife.

Nice! What wood is that? +1 for old nail ticks.

I think mnandi is as capable as sebenza for 93.4% of tasks. Try it out next time you have a hard use task.

This is so annoying to see... in a really good way.

I am a big guy... 6'5", 300 lbs. I have big hands and prefer large knives like my large 21's and my Umnumzaan.

But, I LOVE the Mnandis so much! I have called CRK and asked Heather if they would ever make a large version of the Mnandi. She said no, and that many others have asked the same thing of them.

They are so beautiful, so graceful, such an amazing design. I want one every time I see one here in a discussion/ sales thread. And this thread is very informative regarding the Mnandi's toughness and usefulness in spite of its size.

Even though I could probably palm one of these little beauties, I may get one someday, especially if some of you excellent Mnandi users keep posting in this thread. :)

Edit: Could someone please post pics of the old vs. new nail nick and benefits of each?
