This is Alaskan bull musk ox horn material from the boss, it is very hard to get and becoming very popular, it is kind of expensive though. I pay more for this than I do for ancient walrus ivory. The sizes marked are of usable material. I did not count the thin areas that are not usable. These are very fresh, (The hunting season just opened on Jan. 1st.) so they will need to cure for at least 6 months before you use it. The prices marked will be plus shipping. I charge only the actual shipping charges, I ship US priority flat rate, I am happy to combine orders to save you money on shipping. Happy to answer any questions about this material and about working with this material. As always it is guarunteed to be legal, satisfaction guaranteed, I take all the normal methods of payment. Thanks for looking.

what is the texture like? soft? hard? "pithy?" will it take to being stabalized?

It is just like sheep horn, medium hardness. You can work it like wood but do not work it too warm, like all horn, heat affects it. Do not polish it too warm, it turns foggy and yellows. It is not very porous so stabilizing medium does not penitrate much but stabilizing is benificial in that it will fill any minute cracks. There is no pith it is very solid. Thanks Mark
