This Vanguard is a beauty, I'd love it better with no blade cutout though. Very nice 107 also.

I feel the same way about the Vanguard.

Why can't they offer it with or without the gaudy blade cutout?

Just leave SOME blades plain and sell them that way! They might find they sold more of those.

I'm really looking forward to having noncoated blades in the vantage force profile. I may perform a blade swap with my EDC nonforce vantage.

I agree about the burl handled vanguard. It's a great looking handle but I've never really liked the decorative collectible cutouts in the blade.

Darn it. IIRC a couple of newsletters back it talked about sending your email to Joe Houser and the BCCI. I got on Joe's list but for got to do the same with the club. I'll correct that when I get home tonight.

Yeah, I gotta get on the stick and send my e-mail. Those 847's look more like regular Pro's with the new scales. Do the blades have the jimping I wonder?

I tried blowing up the pictures but I can't say for sure if they have the jimping on the uncoated blades.

It appears that they decided not to produce the Force Avids in the new configurations. The only Avids that are listed in the price sheet are the same as last years, no new handles or blade options like the Pro and Select.

I don't think so Kev. I know Larry didn't send all the pages from the catalog (only shows the same Force Avid as last year), so I checked the price list. As you can see, the Avid isn't listed with any of the new options that the Pro and Select are getting.

If ANY of the models would have benefited from some new scales it would have been the AVID in my opinion.

This one is cool looking too. Seems to only be available with the stonewashed blade, and they gave it the same model number as the Select. :confused:

Anyone else like the 112/113 collector set? Man that elder burl is something! Even with the member pricing though it's a little steep for my budget at the moment.
