Yes Mark this is a new one I finnished it last nite.
I quite because of time I would work a full time job then work in the shop every nite till midnite and all weekends trying to keep up. I just got burned out and had no time for the family, and always new there would be other times.

If you are asking about the brass spacers, I cut them with a checking file.

I was thinking about doing a guard like that, myself. at How stiff is the guard from the front? I don't expect it could be used like trench knife guard in a fight, but is it fairly stable?

No I only do the grinding at this time. I did do forgeing before I quit making and I am sure I will get back into it as time goes on.
