When you carry a medium to large size knife (722 for example), what else do you or are you willing to carry in the same pocket?

Also, what are some not so obvious things that you shouldn't carry in the same pocket?

I won't carry anything in my knife pocket. And I usually carry the knife clipped to the top of the pocket, too.

Same here. Nothing else in my knife pocket except the knife. For me, I don't like other stuff in my knife pocket mostly because of thinking about the knife will scratch up with the other stuff, other thing, I was worrying about the other stuff will fall out by accident when I am reaching out for my knife.

I carry my keys in the same pocket as my rittergrip, with the grip clipped and slid all the way to the left (this is left front pocket, since I'm a lefty, with my wallet on top of a tinker in my right front), and this seems to work out okay as long as they're not really tight pockets, although sometimes in like sweat pants or the like I'll wear the knife IWB, because I don't trust the pockets in those, even with the clip.

I had a 720 awhile back and I had no problem with carrying it with my keys in the same pocket. My left pocket holds my flashligh and wallet and my right pocket my keys and knife.

I carry a 722 clipped to my left front pocket.I also carry my Arc LS in the same pocket suspended on a short chain from my left front belt loop and the two never touch.Oh and Werthers candies in the bottom of the same pocket, yummy. :D

My knife has it's very own pocket. The only way I would carry anything else in the same pocket would be in some type of wallet that had individual compartments.

This is a reason I don't care for the aluminum handled knives. I have an anodized aluminum key fod and after pocket carry it look like complete crap. I certainly don't want a knife that I have to worry about scratches etc on the handle. The G10 or FRN handled knives do not have problems with getting scratched up like the aluminum handled knives do. I don't have any Micarta handled knives but I would guess they would do better than aluminum in this regard as well.

Just like many of the others. My right front pocket is dedicated to my edc, which is usually a large folder (currently a BM 630 or a DB Fraley XL Deluge). My left front gets the change and slipjoint folder. My keys are on a clip that hooks to a belt loop.

I have my EDC clipped to the top of my RF pocket along the seam. I also carry my wallet there, the two don't really interfere with each other.

I used to have my keys in there too, but it was just to much junk crammed into one pocket and wasn't comfortable. I never really worried about the knife getting scratched or anything, after all it is a user. Coins can be a problem though, they can get caught in between the blade and scales, or otherwise foul up the operation of the knife.

Space Pen Bullet, Chapstick, and lighter(even though I don't smoke), and Surefire E2e go in my LF pocket. Keys clipped on a caribinner to a belt loop and hang down into my back pocket. I recently bought a slipjoint and carry it alone in a back pocket of its own. Don't know how long I will keep that up though, only time will tell.

I typically only carry my knife in my RF pocket, but sometime I will put my cell phone in there too if I don't have anywhere else to put it.

When wearing jeans I carry my folder clipped to outside of my left frontpocket because so I can carry lighter, slipjoint and celphone in there and another reason is that it's more comfortable. When wearing cargo pants I have the folder clipped to inside of the left frontpocket and I also have a slipjoint and lighter in the same pocket.Right frontpocket is for the keys.

I carry WAY too much stuff in my pockets to give up a pocket just for a knife only. I carry a tape measure, cigar cutter and Swiss Army Knife in the same pocket. The bottom end of your knife will get scratched up.

You might be careful with a cellphone. I carry mine in another pocket than my knives so the screen don't get all scratched up.

What kind of tape measure do you carry? I carry a Zippo tape in my watch pocket.Surprising how much it gets used.

I work in printing so mine gets a lot of use too. It's Great Neck brand. It's a plastic case with metal ruler that's a little smaller and skinnier than the Zippos. Not as quality as the Zippos or the ones the the vendors like Xpedx give out, but space is an issue for me since I carry a lot of misc like this in my pockets.

Anything I need to except coins, after getting one caught between the blade and a liner I decided that wasn't something I wanted to happen in an emergency.

I keep my folder clipped in my right pocket, usually with only a couple of cheap pens for company. If I feel like carrying a second knife it winds up in the upper front pocket of my jacket.

I do put things in with my clipped knives, but I'm careful about what. One shares a pocket with my leather coin purse. The other sits next to a small pouch made of soft plastic mesh that keeps the scratchy things inside away from the knife.
