The bevel on the spine of the blade near the tip is called a swedge.

I would buy that knife in a second. It looks great to me. Very smooth and clean lines, and I also like ebony wood on knives and wish it were used more.

A good reference on what all goes into a slippie. From The Schrade Collectors website. Some info might be Schrade specific, but most of it applies to a slipjoint in general.

I guess the next step for me is to get a means of marking my blades. I think I'll invest in a tang stamp. They're pricey but I like the look them and it should last a good while...

The interest in my knives has caught me off guard, like I said earlier I don't feel quite ready to take any orders just yet... Summer is here and construction is in full swing again (my day job). However I guess I could make a "dibs" list.

Folks, I certainly want to encourage Robin to make great knives and I hope that one or more may be in my future.
