More Urban Recon

While it may not be illegal, it certainly is creepy. :p

Well... I don't actually stalk anyone, some times there are just targets of opportunity like the drug deals I have seen. Usually it's just people passing through an area I am photographing and none have ever asked me not to take their pictures when they see me snapping them. I have been out at the camp areas up on Walden's Ridge practicing fire starting and batoning and looked up and realized I was having my picture taken. I don't think I make a great photography subject but if they are interested enough to take a picture, and I am out in public I just shrug and go on. I have heard the phrase "no reasonable expectation of privacy in a public place" on the news a lot. I haven't actually stalked the transients yet either...I have just seen them out in the open while going about my daily life. I have been debating the ethics of actually taking and posting any pictures of their camp area even if i do decide to go in and recon it for my own curiosity. I have pretty much decided not to. I have been patrolling the large ridge my family owns half of and the part of our family land on the other side of the road that goes up the side of the mountain because I have a right to do so, and I feel an obligation to do so. We have all been taking turns with it after some recent events.

After I finished up at work this morning...started at 6:00 and knocked off at noon...I took Sarah for pizza, ice cream, and a walk in the Renaissance Park on the side of the river.

We saw the water taxi go by a couple of times.

I saw where the city workers had cut into and opened up all of the little cubby hole like dens that were once areas the homeless used to camp in.

Then we found some trees I don't recognize. The bark peels a lot like Sycamore. I brought some home to experiment with.

Then we stopped by Rock Creek outfitters and i finally picked up a new pot for my pack....I have a plan for this one.

Hi all,

Mistwalker cool pics. I like the water taxi for sure LOL that is neat. I do not know what that tree is. I hope you find out and let us know. I have that same pot that you got LOL. My nephew just loves to cook soup in that one LOL.
Interesting about the cubbies being opened up. the city is really trying to get the homeless to moving on out of there huh?
BTW love that knife too LOL

The water taxi is fun to ride it has three stops...one on each side and one on Mclellan Island.

I'll post it on the UBC site later to see what it is.

I have had my eye on that pot for a while, I wanted one just a little bigger but the next size up was twice that size and too big.

Oh yeah...the city has definitely got them moving alright. Makes me wonder if they had started opening those cubby holes the day I saw that "caravan".

Yeah, I'm loving it too :D
