While it may not be illegal, it certainly is creepy.![]()
Well... I don't actually stalk anyone, some times there are just targets of opportunity like the drug deals I have seen. Usually it's just people passing through an area I am photographing and none have ever asked me not to take their pictures when they see me snapping them. I have been out at the camp areas up on Walden's Ridge practicing fire starting and batoning and looked up and realized I was having my picture taken. I don't think I make a great photography subject but if they are interested enough to take a picture, and I am out in public I just shrug and go on. I have heard the phrase "no reasonable expectation of privacy in a public place" on the news a lot. I haven't actually stalked the transients yet either...I have just seen them out in the open while going about my daily life. I have been debating the ethics of actually taking and posting any pictures of their camp area even if i do decide to go in and recon it for my own curiosity. I have pretty much decided not to. I have been patrolling the large ridge my family owns half of and the part of our family land on the other side of the road that goes up the side of the mountain because I have a right to do so, and I feel an obligation to do so. We have all been taking turns with it after some recent events.
