.....I asked Michael Morris from our knife makers sub-forum to make something a little special.......with the mosaic pins. Just look at this little beauty ! 6" long, 2 3/8" edge, 3 1/2" Rosewood Burgundy handle, "Pandora's Box" Mosaic pin, NickelSilver lanyard, 7oz handstiched leather pouch sheath...

It's a birthday gift for our grandson who will be 18 next month. We do a lot of woodswalking together here in the Cascades, and I thought a nice, compact, hand-made fixed blade would make a great birthday gift for our grandson. Michael was easy to work with....he provided me with his phone number, answering all my questions and explaining all my options. He's a friendly sort; within a few words you would swear you were talking with a good neighbor you've known for years ! Michael called today to let me know he had the knife ready for mailing. Although in no hurry as our grandson's birthday isn't until next month.....Michael had the knife made in two weeks.

Of course now is the hard part.....waiting until our grandson's birthday to see the look on his face when we give him this handsome, hand-crafted knife. A BIG thank you to Michael for his great work. Folks.......if you're in the market for something that Michael makes, contact him, and in every way you will get more than your money's worth !!

I like it a lot. I'm a HUGE fan of a full sized handle with a short blade, I know I'm probably in the minority. i like the look, on this knife, of one single pin - it looks elegant and rugged all at the same time.

Sweet sheath too! Got any pics of the knife in sheath?

great looking little knife... i have been eyeballing those neckers and EDC knives for a while...:)

I think it will be a great companion for the day-hiking and trail-walking my grandson and I do here in the Cascades.

That is a sweet knife.
You are very generous and your grandson very lucky.
I hope that the two of you have lots of great woods time.

..jeeze.. ..the only thing my grandfather gave me was my taste for whiskey and fast women..

Our grandson has had a rough go of things since his dad, our son, passed away. He's worked hard in school to bring his grades up. My wife and I wanted to do a little something special for his 18th birthday. Actually, for a handmade knife, it was very reasonably priced. You'd spend more on a nice Spyderco.

I'll wait until my grandson's next birthday to introduce the whiskey and fast women. ;)
